They had lives independent of Marcus and Frankie and it lent the story a texture I appreciated. It gave Arthur and Paul a story all of their own and while it didn’t particularly go anywhere, it showed they were there not just to be the other two bears in the plot. Marcus thinks on a number of occasions that he’d wish they’d find other partners and go back to being just friends because they do better at it. Rather, they are having sex because there’s nobody else on the horizon. Arthur and Paul have a somewhat unusual relationship dynamic where they are good friends and have (very) regular sex but it doesn’t appear to be true love for either of them. (But he falls asleep in “papa bear’s” bed (the sofa) instead of baby bear’s bed.) The cabin is occupied by three “bears” – lumberjacks no less. (That may say something about my reading list.)įrankie Blackburn does have golden hair and he does stumble upon a cabin during a blizzard and fall asleep. Also, while I don’t mind stories with threesomes and moresomes but it’s nice to read a book where the opportunity exists but the characters choose differently. It starts off with a “Goldielocks and the Three Bears” vibe but I was pleased it did not much more than give it a nod. I’m a fan of your writing so I was excited to read Let It Snow. But as the northwinds blow and guards come down, Frankie and Marcus find they have a lot more in common than they don’t. Marcus Gardner wasn’t always a lumberjack-once a high-powered Minneapolis lawyer, he’s come home to Logan to lick his wounds, not play with a sassy city twink who might as well have stepped directly out of his past. Being rescued by three sexy lumberjacks is fine as a fantasy, but in reality the biggest of the bears is awfully cranky and seems ready to gobble Frankie right up. Stylist Frankie Blackburn never meant to get lost in Logan, Minnesota, but his malfunctioning GPS felt otherwise, and a record-breaking snowfall ensures he won’t be heading back to Minneapolis anytime soon.
The weather outside is frightful, but this Minnesota Northwoods cabin is getting pretty hot.
